St. Patrick's Day is celebrated annually on March 17. The occasion marks the death anniversary of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. St. Patrick’s Day is all about music, parades and good food. Everyone who celebrates St. Patrick’s Day has their own playlist for the occasion. Irish Over 30,000 people are expected to gather in Derry’s city centre for the annual St Patrick;s Day parade and celebrations. Ireland made sure it was not left out of an event that is now truly global as revellers marked the feast day of the island’s patron saint St Patrick in the usual way. Crowds took to the streets in cities and towns including Dublin, Belfast and Athy in Co Kildare as pageants unfolded with Irish dancers and leprechaun costumes in evidence. A long weekend of celebrations in Buncrana in Inishowen culminated in a spectacular parade on St Patrick’s Day on Monday afternoon.
